Next Steps Checklist: Fall 2021
Register for upcoming accepted student events on the Get to Know Our Community page.
Activate your Berklee Email Account/OnePass
After submitting your enrollment deposit, you will receive instructions from Berklee Technology Resources on how to activate your school email account. This email account also serves as your Berklee OnePass, which gives you one-click access to many resources, including the Conservatory’s internal website. You must use your Berklee email address for all official school business.
Familiarize Yourself with Our Internal Site
Once you have activated your @berklee.edu account/OnePass, you will be able to access the Boston Conservatory at Berklee internal website. This site contains helpful links and resources to help orient you in our community. One important resource that you can access here is Self-Service.
Update Your Information on Self-Service
Self-Service/PowerCampus is a tool for registration, paying bills, and student information. You will receive credentials to access Self-Service from Berklee Technology Resources. First-time login instructions can be found here. Note that your student ID, also referred to as your PowerCampus ID, can be found on your application portal. You can access Self-Service via the Boston Conservatory internal website or directly through Self-Service.
Once you have logged in to Self-Service/PowerCampus for the first time and successfully validated your account, please make sure to update your personal information, including phone number and address, in the “My Profile” tab. All three address fields must be filled out, even if the information is the same in each field.
Submit Proof of High School/Secondary School Graduation
Submit either your official high/secondary school diploma or final transcript that includes a graduation date and an official signature and seal. Transfer students should submit their most recent transcript to update their transfer credit records. Learn more about how to submit these materials.
If you attended a post-secondary school (college or university) within the last five years, or are currently attending one, you must submit the Transfer Student Discipline Record Release Form prior to the beginning of orientation for the first semester of enrollment.
Residential Students: Review Important Housing Information and Prepare for Move-In
All students who are confirmed for on-campus housing should have received an email confirmation via their Berklee email account. Students who are confirmed for on-campus housing will be notified about their move-in date and time in July, and specific on-campus housing assignment information will be sent to students before August. Review important housing dates online, and get ready for move-in and orientation by reviewing the pre-arrival to-do list on the housing website.
Register for Orientation
New student orientation will start on August 30. All new undergraduate and graduate students are required to attend, and must register for orientation online. Additional details about orientation can be found at berklee.edu/orientation.
If you have any questions about orientation, please contact Berklee’s Office of New Student and Family Programs at nsfp@berklee.edu.
Submit Your Immunizations and Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination by August 1
All entering and transfer students must submit a completed Berklee Entering Student Immunization Form to Magnus Health, Berklee’s provider for collecting, managing, and tracking immunization information. You should receive an email from Magnus Health to the email address that is connected to your application with information on how to access your Magnus Health account. This step in your acceptance process cannot be completed until Magnus Health emails you with your login credentials. Please be aware that it may take up to a week from your admittance to the institution for your Magnus Health account to be active.
Remember that Berklee will require all students returning to our Boston campus this fall to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for the fall 2021 semester. We strongly encourage you to submit your COVID-19 vaccination record as soon as possible.
If you submit your vaccination record after August 1 for residential students and August 15 for commuter students, you may not be able to access campus at the start of the semester and are at risk of being unable to enroll for the fall semester or losing your on-campus housing.
We have moved this deadline earlier because you will be moving into a communal living environment before the semester begins. Ensuring everyone is fully vaccinated is the most effective way to keep our community safe. This new deadline will give us time to work with you and your family to come up with a plan to ensure that you are vaccinated before you arrive.
If you have concerns about meeting the deadlines (e.g., if you will only have one dose of a two-dose vaccine by August), please email covidhealthadministrator@berklee.edu.
International students: If you have signed up for the Tufts Medical Center vaccination clinic in August for Berklee students, you do not need to take any action at this time.
Read more about the COVID-19 vaccine requirement.
If you have any questions, please email Health and Wellness at healthandwellness@berklee.edu.
Pay Your Bill by August 2
Your billing statement for the fall 2021 semester is available in Self-Service. Your payment is due no later than August 2.
International Students: Submit Your I-20 and F-1 Visa
All students from outside the United States who plan to attend Boston Conservatory this fall must request an I-20 form in order to apply for an F-1 student visa at a U.S. consulate or embassy. Review the I-20/F-1 Visa Information page for step-by-step instructions on how to complete your I-20.
International Students: Complete Your English as a Second Language (ESL) Placement Exam
All international students who are not from English-speaking countries are required to complete an online English placement exam, regardless of their TOEFL/IELTS score. The results of this exam will be used to place you in appropriate classes; therefore, we cannot complete your class schedule until you have taken this exam. Information on the English placement exam and how to access it will be emailed in mid-July to all international students who are required to take this test.
Submit Your Photo for Your Conservatory ID
Visit the Student ID Photo Submission web page to submit your photo for your Conservatory ID electronically.
Complete Online Check-In Form by August 20
Make sure to complete Fall 2021 Online Check-In form (Berklee OnePass login required) by August 20. This short survey collects important information that we need for you to be considered an enrolled student.
Review Your Financial Aid
You can view your financial aid award by visiting the financial aid portal.
Review Important Health Insurance Information
The state of Massachusetts requires that students be enrolled in a health insurance plan that offers comprehensive coverage. All coverage must be in effect while you are enrolled at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, even while studying abroad, and coverage must be compliant with state and federal regulations under the Affordable Care Act. We also recommend that your insurance plan provides coverage anywhere in the United States and abroad, and that it includes provisions for medical evacuation and repatriation of remains.
All students are automatically enrolled in and charged for Berklee’s Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP).
Students may waive (decline) participation in the Berklee SHIP if they can demonstrate coverage with a comparable insurance plan that is consistent with existing state and federal requirements for students enrolled in colleges and universities in Massachusetts. The insurance coverage requirements for waiving the SHIP are not internal policies set by Berklee.
The waiver is completed online on the Gallagher Student Health website. You must complete an online waiver for each new academic year during which you do not want the institution's plan. Verbal waiver requests, letters, and copies of insurance cards will not be accepted. Should your waiver be denied, information on how to appeal a waiver denial will be available directly to students in the denial email. All decisions made by Gallagher Student Health are final. Berklee engages the professional services of Gallagher Student Health and Special Risk to: communicate to each eligible student how to request a waiver; notify students of the dates by which waiver requests may be made; and review whether or not waiver requests are compliant with Massachusetts regulations.
