Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.
One of my favorite Berklee experiences so far was going on my audition and interview (A&I) trip to New York City as a student ambassador. I was able to meet prospective students, answer their questions, and help run the A&I.
When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?
My favorite classes always consist of great discussion and debate, and are always led by fun, inspiring teachers. These tend to be music business classes like Business Ethics, or fun liberal arts classes like Art History.
What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?
The best part about Berklee is being able to study, work, and play with musicians from all over the world. It's an incredibly vibrant community that has helped shape my worldview and inspired me in every way.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?
Become involved in extracurricular groups at Berklee. Find topics you're interested in and join clubs (or make your own). You'll meet people with similar mind-sets and passions, and build great connections that will go past graduation.
Where is your favorite place on campus?
My favorite place on campus is Tatte cafe in 160 [Massachusetts Avenue]. I'm always there studying, doing online class, or meeting up with friends. Definitely try the grilled cheese.
Why did you choose Berklee?
I chose Berklee because I came from a classical music background and wanted to be more integrated in the contemporary music business. My goal is to work for a major record label, and Berklee is the best way to learn, make meaningful connections, and reach my goals.
What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation I have one year to find a company to sponsor my visa. My goal is to live and work in New York City, so I'll be applying for positions there and hopefully find a great entry-level job.
What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?
From watching and performing in live shows to helping backstage, I've really enjoyed all areas of Berklee performances. I love the diversity in genre and the detail put into a professional execution.
Where do you hope to perform this coming year?
As a music business major, I'm much more interested in scouting talent rather than performing. I'll be attending showcases, concerts, and as many live shows as I can.
