Sheri Fernandes joined the Conservatory in 2015, and is an assistant professor of core studies, teaching music theory and ear training.

A native of southeastern Massachusetts and committed to the field of music education, Fernandes has taught secondary music education electives in music theory and history and directed numerous choral and instrumental ensembles for over a decade in the Massachusetts public schools. 

Fernandes is an active freelance horn player and performs regularly with numerous orchestra, band, and chamber ensembles throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She is a founding member of and music writer and arranger for the Windology Chamber Music Ensemble. Fernandes writes and arranges for numerous chamber and educational ensembles in the region.

Fernandes earned her B.M. in education at the University of Rhode Island and her M.M. in music education at Boston Conservatory. She has studied horn with Whitacre Hill and Elizabeth Gates. 

Fernandes currently resides near her hometown in southeastern Massachusetts, where she has an established home studio of private horn, trumpet, and voice students.
