Ramone Owens joined the Conservatory in 2020 and is an assistant professor of theater specializing in musical theater and jazzdance.

Prior to the Conservatory, Owens served on the faculty of the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (NYCDA) and Long Island University (LIU), and was a guest instructor at the American Music and Dramatic Academy’s High School Summer Conservatory (AMDA, New York). Owens has been associate choreographer at North Carolina Theatre, Pace University, and the University of Michigan. 

Owens spent twelve years as a performer. Highlighted credits include Broadway and touring performances of Beetlejuice, the Musical (world premiere, original Broadway cast) and Motown: The Musical; an off-Broadway production of Finian’s Rainbow at the Irish Repertory Theater; and regional productions of The Sting at the Paper Mill Playhouse (world premiere) and The Prince of Egypt at TheaterWorks Silicon Valley (world premiere). His regional credits also include productions at Sacramento Music Circus, Musical Theater West, and Tuacahn Center for the Arts. 

A proud alum of Boston Conservatory, Owens holds a B.F.A. in musical theater with an emphasis in dance. While in Boston, he attended and received a full scholarship to study at the Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Intensive, and performed with the Boston Dance Company
