Day Sessions: Musical Theater is a five-day, remote program for young artists who are passionate about musical theater and want to be challenged to expand their skills within a supportive global community of peers and award-winning faculty.

This program is the perfect introduction for students who have always wanted to give theater a try, as well as those who have already gotten started and wish to advance their craft. Day Sessions: Musical Theater is also ideal for those considering one of our high school-level summer programs in the future and want to sample Boston Conservatory’s signature training paced for younger students.

This year’s remote format allows for enhanced individualized instruction that meets each student where they are with private one-on-one coaching and customized small-group work in dance and movement, singing, character development, and song interpretation. By the end of the week, students will have an audition selection that showcases their skills and participate in a musical theater collaborative video performance created by the ensemble.

The program will run from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. each day and consist of a combination of synchronous (live, interactive online class activities) and asynchronous learning (guided activities done independently off-screen). Students will spend approximately two-and-a-half to three hours engaged in live, interactive online learning and one to one-and-half hours in guided independent work.

In addition, students from all over the world will have the opportunity to connect and learn about life as a professional artist during a lunch-and-learn series called Socially Connected, that will cover such topics as life on tour and on Broadway, auditioning for and/or choosing a college, and auditioning for shows and groups close to home.
