Chelsea Beatty joined the Conservatory in 2014 and is an instructor of voice.
Beatty is a performer, teacher, and arts administrator based in Boston. In addition to her work as a teacher, she served as general director of Boston Opera Collaborative from 2013 to 2016 and joined the marketing staff of Boston Ballet in 2015.
Beatty is active on the opera and concert stages of Boston, including performances with Odyssey Opera, OperaHub, Boston New Music Initiative, Juventas New Music Ensemble, North End Music and Performing Arts Center, Opera on Tap Boston, and Quincy Choral Society.
Favorite recent roles include Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress), Mimì (La Bohème), Suor Angelica (Suor Angelica), Pamina and Second Lady (The Magic Flute), Mary Warren (The Crucible), and Charlotte (A Little Night Music). Beatty is also an avid performer and advocate of new opera and chamber works and has participated in the world premiere of Light and Power in the role of Nicola Tesla and the U.S. premiere of Dreimaldrei gleich unendlich as Lady in White, both with Juventas New Music Ensemble.
Beatty is a two-time district finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, in Boston in 2015 and in the Colorado/Wyoming District in 2013.
She holds a Master of Music in vocal performance from University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor of Music from Boston Conservatory.
