General Info

Musical Theater Dance

As a dance teacher, my main goal is to inspire my students to work to the best of their abilities and help them achieve their full potential in dance.

Tatiana Obeso joined the Conservatory in 2011 and is a ballet instructor for the Theater Division.

Upon graduating from the National School of Ballet in Lima, Peru (1991), she was offered a contract to dance for the National Ballet of Peru. After performing and touring with the ballet company, Obeso received a prestigious fellowship from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., in 1996 that brought her to the United States, where she trained and danced with the Boston Ballet and Suzanne Farrell Ballet. Obeso later served as a lead dancer with Margot Parsons' Dance Company, Cadence Dance Project, Impulse Dance Company, Ace Entertainment, Northern Ballet Company, and the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble in a variety of performances and venues between 1996 and 2005. It was with this last group that she participated in special performances for Pope John Paul II at World Youth Day in Toronto in 2002.

Obeso's ballroom career started in 2000 when she began training with Studio 665 owner and former 10-Dance champion Mark Nocera. Television appearances, live performances, and award-winning coaching, judging, and choreographing have marked her ballroom and Latin dance career. Her performance career includes an appearance with renowned musician Billy Joel. Obeso also appeared as a coach on TLC's Dancing Tweens, as a performer and judge on MTV's Made, and as a performer at the Boston Tree Lighting Ceremony (2007), broadcast by Channel 5. She was also involved as a coach and judge in the collegiate ballroom dancing circuit, coaching the Tufts University Ballroom Dance Team. Obeso created and directed the Performing Arts Program at Studio 665, where she offered different dance styles for all ages.

She is a Pilates- and DVIDA-certified dance instructor.
