Contemporary dance performance to showcase four new works by leading choreographers from November 3–6.

October 26, 2016

Boston Conservatory at Berklee's Dance Division will present its fall concert, From the Ground Up, from November 3 through 6 at Boston Conservatory Theater. The concert will feature sophomores, juniors, and seniors studying dance at the Conservatory.

Directed by Cathy Young, the program will feature an array of new works created for Conservatory students by leading contemporary dance choreographers Sidra Bell, Omar Carrum and Claudia Lavista, Stephanie Martinez, and Tommie-Waheed Evans. Conservatory instructors Gianni Di Marco and Adriana Suarez also reconstructed a classical pas de deux for the performance, which will be accompanied by the Boston Conservatory Orchestra.

From the Ground Up embraces dance’s classical past while looking to the innovations of its future,” said Cathy Young, dean of dance and artistic director of From the Ground Up. “We are thrilled to debut four new contemporary works from top choreographers who have inspired the dance students at Boston Conservatory.”

Evening performances will take place November 3 through 5 at 8:00 p.m.; matinees will take place on November 5 and 6 at 2:00 p.m. All performances will be held at the Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, MA.

Tickets for From the Ground Up are $30 for premium seating; $25 for regular seating; $25–$20 for senior citizens, Conservatory alumni, and WGBH members; $20–$15 for students.
