Ty-Juana L. Flores

Ty-Juana L. Flores (she/her) is an Afro-Latina with Panamanian roots from Roxbury, Massachusetts, who is dedicated to building a better world through the arts. As an arts administrator, community connector, and thought partner in shifting organizational culture, she has held various roles in design, higher education, philanthropy, and city government.

She’s had the pleasure of working with and/or for the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA), the City of Boston’s Mayors Office of Arts and Culture, Boston Cultural Council, Pro Arts Consortium, and several private label companies and studios in New York City that produced womenswear apparel for brands like Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Lord & Taylor.

She has over 11 years of experience working at Berklee in various roles within the institution and is currently the director of Berklee's Identity-Based Programs (IBP), which is currently comprised of the Black Scholars Initiative and SOMOS Latinx. Under her leadership, she's played a critical role to increase retention and graduation rates for program participants in the Black Scholars Initiative and was responsible for successfully launching Berklee's inaugural SOMOS Latinx pre-orientation program for first year Latinx/Hispanic students. Overall, she is responsible for the strategic vision, assessment, and evaluation of IBP while advancing Berklee’s mission and its commitment to the success of BSI and SOMOS Latinx students.

During her free time she enjoys making collages, spending time with her daughter, and visiting new exhibits in museums and art gallery's.
