An actor’s instrument isn’t separate from themself, therefore it’s crucial that they are able to tune themselves to both their given and their actual circumstances in order to avoid playing other people’s traumas in their system.

Jessica Webb joined the Conservatory in 2017 and is an Assistant Professor of Theater. She is a certified Alexander Technique Teacher (ATI), Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (ISMETA), and Certified Trauma Professional (PESI.)  She teaches acting, musical theater, and the Alexander Technique, and is an Equity Partner and ETUDE Scholar. Webb is trained in the Meisner Technique, Stanislavski Method, and teaches through an anti-oppressive, anti-racist and trauma-informed lens. 

Webb has appeared regionally and internationally with The Lyric Stage Company, New Repertory Theatre, The Greater Boston Stage Company, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Foothills Theater Company, Bay Colony Shakespeare Company, Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater, The William Inge Theatre Festival, The Organic Theater Company (Chicago), The Nomad Theater Company (Boulder, CO), and The Moscow Art Theater/MXAT in Moscow. She has appeared in various television and films.

Webb has also taught for the ART/Harvard Institute, Worcester State University, Boston University, Emerson College, Elements Theatre Company, Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, Lesley University, Greater Boston Stage Company, Wheelock Family Theatre, Merrimack Repertory Theatre, DCTC. Webb is also a senior actor for over 12 years with Children’s Hospital in Boston as part of their PERCs/Sims program. She has also taught workshops and presentations internationally and is a member of UWSIAT.  She runs a studio, both online and in Brookline, Massachusetts, where she teaches private lessons, locally and internationally, in Alexander Technique and private acting coaching.

Webb holds an B.F.A. in Acting from Northern Illinois University and a Certificate of Completion from the Moscow Art Theater School/MXAT. Additional training includes a 3-year certificate The Actor’s Secret training; Anatomy of Wholeness; Intimacy training with TIE; and Anti-Racist Theatre Training with Nicole Brewer. She is a proud member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA.
