Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

My favorite Berklee experience has been working as a tour guide over the summer. I have loved getting to meet new people, talk about Berklee, and work in an office full of really great students. I’ve made amazing friends out of my coworkers and love getting to interact with everyone.

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

My favorite class so far was the Women in Rock Ensemble. I loved working closely with other female students and getting to play the violin in a very nontraditional setting.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

I love how there is always something to do in Boston. Whether it’s food, music, or a walk around the block, there is always something happening to keep life interesting. I also love how the city is our campus and it’s not confined to a small area. You’re able to meet people from surrounding schools and collaborate with more people.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

Be true to yourself. There is no right or wrong style of music or way to play your instrument. You have to do what makes you the happiest and what makes you shine as a musician.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

The courtyard outside the 7 Haviland Street building.

Why did you choose Berklee?

It’s the only place on the planet that I can take my traditionally classical instrument and put it into different settings like a rock band or a jazz ensemble. It has opened doors for me to explore who I want to become as a player outside of being a classical violinist.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I want to be on tour, making and releasing my own music, and eventually working toward a master's and doctorate degree [so I can] come back and hopefully teach at Berklee.

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?

I love how excited everyone is to hear the music that students make. Everyone at Berklee is incredibly supportive, and that is especially translated into the shows that are put on. It’s so fun to be on stage and have your friends supporting you in the audience [who are] equally as excited about making music as you are.

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

I hope I can play some house shows throughout the year. I would also love to try a Caf show and maybe the Red Room at Cafe 939.
