Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Diversity and Inclusion team supports the Berklee community through education, community-building programming, and resources to promote inclusion, and is led by Lacretia Johnson Flash. Simone Francis is the assistant director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Student Engagement who serves both the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music communities.

The Equity team supports the Berklee community by administering the Equity Policy and Process, offering resources, support, and reporting options to address harassment, discrimination, or sexual misconduct, and educating the community on prevention of and response to these issues. The Equity team is led by Kelly Downes. You can reach them at equity@berklee.edu.

Both teams are situated in the Center for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (921 Boylston Street, room 120), which you can call at 617-747-3156.

How to Report Incidents

Creating a safe, respectful, and diverse environment at Boston Conservatory at Berklee is central to our mission and essential to the work we do as a community. Every individual has the right to work and learn in a healthy environment, and should feel empowered to speak up if they are experiencing distress.

Anyone who has experienced potential misconduct, racism, harassment, or discrimination of any kind are strongly encouraged to report the incident(s) to Berklee’s Center for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion by emailing equity@berklee.edu so that the school can take appropriate action.
