Alumnus Jonathon Heyward (B.M. '14, cello) has been selected to be the next chief conductor of the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. Heyward will join the orchestra at age 28, the same age Boston Symphony Orchestra Music Director Andris Nelsons was when he began as chief conductor of the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie.
