Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Center Stage series will continue with Mozart’s beloved opera Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), making an exciting return to the Boston Conservatory Theater stage for the first time in seven years. Performances will take place from Thursday, April 13 through Sunday, April 16.

Le nozze di Figaro’s story takes audiences through a wild day in the court of Count Almaviva on the wedding day of his servant Figaro to Susanna. The masterful comic opera follows the adventures of wily Figaro and his beloved Susanna as they unravel numerous complications and foil nefarious plots to prevent their marriage.

This production of Le nozze di Figaro will be conducted by acclaimed guest artist Joseph Mechavich and stage directed by associate professor of opera David Gately. Last performed at the Conservatory in 2016, the opera returns with a gorgeous physical production borrowed from the Maryland Lyric Opera.

“It is a thrill to see one of the most celebrated and well-loved operas of all time come back to Boston Conservatory,” said Michael Shinn, dean of music for Boston Conservatory at Berklee. “This production will be a spectacular showcase of our opera students’ talents, under the fantastic direction of Joseph Mechavich and David Gately. We are so grateful to the Maryland Lyric Opera for providing the set and production assets that will bring our vision of Le nozze di Figaro to life,” added Isaí Jess Muñoz, chair of voice for Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Le nozze di Figaro will be presented at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 8:00 p.m. from Thursday, April 13 through Saturday, April 15 and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16. Tickets are $25 to $30 for regular seating; $18.75 to $22.50 for children, senior citizens, WGBH members, and non-Berklee students. Learn more and purchase tickets here
