Boston Conservatory at Berklee Announces 2017–2018 Asia Information and Audition Tours

Boston Conservatory at Berklee is thrilled to announce its second Asia information and speaking tour in fall 2017, followed by an audition tour in January 2018.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee is thrilled to announce its second Asia information and speaking tour in fall 2017, followed by an audition tour in January 2018.

Brian Calhoon, director of Admissions, and Richard Ortner, senior advisor to the president, will represent the Conservatory in Seoul and Beijing in September 2017 as well as Taipei, Shanghai, and Hong Kong in November 2017, where they will meet with students and Conservatory alumni. On this tour, students considering a Boston Conservatory at Berklee degree will have the opportunity to learn more about the school and ask questions. More information will be posted as it becomes available.

In January 2018, Conservatory faculty members will travel to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong to conduct entrance auditions for fall 2018 enrollment in Boston Conservatory at Berklee undergraduate and graduate programs.

Auditions will be held for the following classical instruments only:

  • Piano*
  • Strings
  • Brass
  • Woodwinds
  • Voice* (not Opera or Vocal Pedagogy)

These auditions will be considered final, live auditions. Students must register for the audition in advance.
*Piano and Voice applicants are required to pre-screen in order to be invited to register for an audition.

All auditions are open to piano, strings, brass, voice and woodwinds applicants only. Your exact audition time, location, and schedule details will be sent upon registration. You will audition for a panel of Boston Conservatory music faculty members and the audition will be video recorded. A piano is provided for the audition and warm-up time but accompanists are not provided. All voice applicants must provide their own piano accompanist. In addition to your audition, there may be an information session to answer your questions about the Conservatory.
