Rachel Klippel (she/her) teaches in the Vocal Arts Department, specializing in musical theater. In addition to her work at Boston Conservatory, she is on the voice faculty at Walnut Hill, serves as the NATS Boston student auditions codirector, and maintains a private voice studio. She completed her MFA in Musical Theater Vocal Pedagogy at Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2025 with a thesis research project entitled Gender Quality in Musical Theatre Singing: Disagreement Between Singer and Listener Perception. She presented her findings at the 2025 Voice Foundation Symposium in Philadelphia and the 2026 National Association of Teachers of Singing conference in San Antonio, Texas.

Prior to coming to Boston, Klippel served as an adjunct voice professor at the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. While there, she taught musical theater voice lessons and served on the CCPA College Council as an adjunct faculty representative. 

Selected theater performance credits include Ms. Barley in Gentlemen’s Guide to Love and Murder (Porchlight), Clara in The Light in the Piazza (Theo Ubique), Joanna in Sunset Boulevard and Sweeney Todd (Drury Lane Oakbrook), Celeste I in Sunday in the Park with George and Aggie in The Game’s Afoot (Peninsula Players), and Rita/Young Julia in James Joyce’s The Dead (Court Theatre). Rachel lives in the Boston area with her husband and three feline fur babies.

I want students to be able to use their entire, full-body instrument efficiently and at any level of health. I want students to understand vocal load impact, not only as it pertains to singing but to speaking as well.
