Boston Conservatory Dance Students to Perform at KCON

The students, representing Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s contemporary and commercial dance programs, will perform three times throughout the KCON convention as part of a star-studded weekend.

August 15, 2023

Twelve dance students from Boston Conservatory at Berklee will perform at KCON Los Angeles, the world’s largest convention for Korean culture and music, from August 18 to 20 at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena. This marks the second consecutive appearance for Boston Conservatory dance students at KCON; last year, 13 students performed a piece choreographed by guest choreographer Jennifer Archibald, founder and artistic director of Arch Dance Company and program director of ArchCore40 Dance Intensives.

“We are thrilled to be returning to KCON LA for our second appearance,” said Mila Thigpen, chair of dance for Boston Conservatory at Berklee. “Jennifer Archibald choreographed another exciting performance that we can’t wait to share with K-pop fans. KCON Los Angeles 2023 marks our first performance project on an international platform that combines a cast of dance majors from our historic contemporary track with our new commercial track majors. We are grateful to the CJ Cultural Foundation for their continued generosity and invitation for this unique artistic opportunity.”

Boston Conservatory at Berklee dance students will be featured in the lineup alongside globally acclaimed K-pop headliners including Shownu X Hyungwon (Monsta X), Taeyong, ATEEZ, INI, ZEROBASEONE, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, Lapillus, XG, RAIN, and many others. KCON Los Angeles runs from August 18 through 20 at the Crypto.com Arena and Los Angeles Convention Center.
