Boston Conservatory at Berklee will present contraBAND: A Woman Sees How the World Goes with No Eyes as part of its Center Stage programming on Tuesday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. This free performance, which will be held at Boston Conservatory Studio 401 at 31 Hemenway Street, features an array of multimedia, avant-garde works composed by women that will be performed by students from the Conservatory’s contemporary classical music performance program.

Directed by Boston Conservatory Assistant Professor of Orchestral Studies and Contemporary Classical Music Vimbayi Kaziboni, the concert will feature two songs by Yoko Ono and Meredith Monk, as well as music by Laurie Anderson, Julia Wolfe, Chaya Czernowin, Boston Conservatory Associate Professor of Composition Eun Young Lee, and several other leading female composers.

“I am thrilled to be showcasing the work of 12 women whose remarkable work deeply inspires me,” said Kaziboni. “I feel this music is crucially worthy of sharing with our community, and certainly the world at-large.”
