Boston Conservatory at Berklee Presents Its Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up

The Center Stage selection will feature world premieres from guest artists and Boston Conservatory dance faculty members.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s fall Center Stage performance season will continue with an annual tradition highlighting the school’s sophomore, junior, and senior dance majors. Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater from Thursday, November 3 through Sunday, November 6. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. November 3 through 5, and 2:00 p.m. on November 5 and 6.

From the Ground Up will showcase an original program with four world premieres created by guest artists who are in residence at Boston Conservatory, and two faculty members. Featured guest artists include award-winning choreographer and Brian Brooks/Moving Company director Brian Brooks; Ailey School and Urbanity Dance instructor and performer Levi Marsman; choreographer, associate artistic director of the renowned Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC), and assistant professor of dance at the Ohio State University Crystal Perkins; and independent choreographer and acclaimed dance artist Heather Stewart, who was a Boston dancemakers resident with the Boston Center for the Arts (2019–2020). Boston Conservatory dance professor Daniel Pelzig and associate professor Kurt Douglas will also premiere two works at the concert.

“From the Ground Up is an extraordinary showcase of dance talent—not only from our incredible students, but from the artists and faculty who have been so giving of their time and creative visions to create this program,” said Tommy Neblett, dean of dance for Boston Conservatory at Berklee and artistic director of this year’s concert. “This year’s slate of world premieres from acclaimed guests and professors will be an amazing evening of dance.”

Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 8:00 p.m. from Thursday, November 3 through Saturday, November 5 and 2:00 p.m. from Saturday, November 5 through Sunday, November 6. Tickets for From the Ground Up are $25 to $30 for regular seating; $18.75 to $22.50 seniors, non-Berklee students, and WGBH members; and $12.50 to $15 for Conservatory alumni.
