Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s spring Center Stage season continues with Mozart’s beloved opera buffa Così fan tutte at Boston Conservatory Theater. Performances will take place from Thursday, April 10 through Saturday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m.; a matinee will take place on Sunday, April 13 at 2:00 p.m.

Così fan tutte is a comic romp centering on a bet about fidelity that is made among the male characters, propelling the events into a riotous, moving, and most of all, thought provoking, escapade. At the urging of an older philosopher, two friends test their fiancées' fidelity by disguising themselves and attempting to woo the other’s partner. Così fan tutte is an intense character study of its six players, and the Conservatory’s production ends with a feminist twist. This production will be conducted by Associate Professor Andrew Bisantz and stage directed by Associate Professor David Gately.

“In their third and final collaboration, Mozart and [librettist Lorenzo] Da Ponte reached new heights of both musical and verbal virtuosity and unparalleled emotional depth. In my long association with this opera, my perspective and musical approach have changed with time, and it’s a joyous experience to explore these new ideas with our immensely talented students,” said Bisantz. "For many onstage and in the pit, not only is this their first experience with Così, but their first direct experience of Mozart’s operatic genius—understanding how the machinations onstage are reflected in the score is a remarkable opportunity for the performers. I’m sure the audience will thrill at the hilarity of the extreme farce, but also be deeply moved by the profound depth of the human experience in our inspired production.”

Così fan tutte will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, April 10 through Saturday, April 12, and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13. Tickets are $31.50–$36.50 for regular seating; $20.50-$27.50 for seniors, non-Berklee students, and GBH members; and $19.50-$26.50 for Conservatory alumni.
