Boston Conservatory at Berklee to Present Wind Ensemble: A Brass Celebration
Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s fall Center Stage season will kick off on Saturday, September 30 with Wind Ensemble: A Brass Celebration, a concert featuring woodwind and brass students and faculty. The performance will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater at 8:00 p.m., and will also be available via livestream.
Led by accomplished conductor, clarinetist, and Boston Conservatory Chair of Instrumental Studies Matthew Marsit, the concert will feature the New England premiere of Adam Gorb’s Out of the Darkness. The performance will also include Lindsay Bronnenkant’s Tarot; Henk Badings’s Symphony No. 15; Assistant Professor Anthony Barfield’s Red Sky, featuring Assistant Professor Angel Subero on trombone; and Bramwell Tovey’s Manhattan Music, featuring the Boston Conservatory Faculty Brass Quintet.
“I am so very excited to open the fall 2023 Center Stage season with this performance by our wind ensemble,” said Marsit, who also serves as artistic director of the Charles River Wind Ensemble and has performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Fairmont Chamber Orchestra, and the Baltimore Symphony. “This is such a special program, featuring the incredible talent of our world-class faculty along with our students, and includes the regional premiere of a new work co-commissioned by Boston Conservatory in a program of exciting works audiences won't experience elsewhere in the region.”
