Eleven students from Boston String Academy will perform with renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel as part of the National Take a Stand Festival, a prestigious music camp hosted by the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Cofounded by Conservatory alumnae Marielisa Alvarez (G.P.D. '11, M.M. '09, violin), Mariesther Alvarez (G.P.D. '11, M.M. '09, violin), and Taide Prieto (G.P.D. '12, P.S.C. '13, cello), Boston String Academy provides music instruction to underserved children.

Two Conservatory students received awards at the 2017 American String Teachers Association Massachusetts Chapter (MA-ASTA) Masters Solo Competition. Elisa Rodrigues Sadaba (B.M. '17, cello) won Grand Prize and Montserrat Siles (B.M. '20, violin) won the award for Best Contemporary Performance, Senior Division.
