Carey Dawson holds an M.F.A. in voice pedagogy from American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theatre/Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University and a B.A. in theater from Peace College in North Carolina.
Her teaching credits include Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Marymount Manhattan College, Institute for Advanced Theatre Training, and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Along with private coaching, Dawson has done dialect, text, and voice coaching at the Magnet Theater, Princeton University, Harvard University, American Repertory Theater, Boston College, the Uncommon Theatre Company, and Brown University.
In 2002, she was the recipient of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts’ Lawrence Langner Award for her excellence in speech for the theater. She was also recognized two years running with a Certificate of Distinction in Teaching at Harvard University. Dawson is an associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework®. She lives in Winchester, Massachusetts with her husband and two children.
