Boston Conservatory at Berklee Professor Eric Cornell Wins Tony for 'Oklahoma!'

Cornell, an assistant professor in the Conservatory’s Theater Division, served on the production team for the lauded revival.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee faculty member Eric Cornell took home a Tony Award on Sunday night as coproducer of the revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic Oklahoma!. Cornell joined the Conservatory faculty in August 2018, where he developed a course on the business of acting for fourth-year musical theater students.
 
Oklahoma! received the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, one of the biggest prizes of the night, while the show’s Ali Stroker landed a historic win for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical—a standout moment of the ceremony.
 
In addition, a number of Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Berklee College of Music alumni contributed to many of the year’s Tony Award–winning shows, including Hadestown, Ink, Tootsie, The Cher Show, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Ain’t Too Proud.
