Bridgette Hayes
Bridgette Hayes (she/her) joined Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2016 and serves as the assistant chair of theater. In this role, she works closely with students, faculty, and staff to cultivate a vibrant, collaborative, and forward-thinking theater community. Her work centers on student mentorship, curricular innovation, and professional preparation, with a strong emphasis on supporting the health and wellness of the working artist and fostering inclusive, consent-forward practices.
From 2015 to 2020, Hayes made her artistic home at Bridge Repertory Theater as an artistic associate and playmaker. There, she wore many hats, appearing onstage as an actor while also contributing behind the scenes as a designer, dramaturg, producer, and administrator. Her work with Bridge Rep involved new play development, world premieres, reimaginings of classic works, collaborations with playwrights at the local, national, and international level, and she played a vital role in shaping the company’s artistic vision.
As an actor, Hayes has worked with Huntington Theatre Company, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, SpeakEasy Stage, Lyric Stage, the Front Porch Arts Collective, the Hanover Repertory Theater, Central Square Theater Company, Greater Boston Stage Company, Bridge Repertory Theater, ArtsEmerson, Company One, Williamstown Theater Festival, Plays in Place, Sleeping Weazel, Bad Habit Productions, Hub Theatre Company, Fresh Ink, Nextdoor Theater, Flat Earth Theatre, Apollinaire Theatre Company, Boston Playwrights’ Theatre, Peculiar Works, and off-Broadway with the Mirror Repertory Theater Company, among others.
In addition to her professional acting and design work, she has taught acting and script analysis at Boston University Summer Theater Institute and at Harvard Extension School. She earned a BFA in acting from Boston University, an MLA in dramatic arts from Harvard University, and a certificate in classical acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.
