Program Description

We're proud to announce that 10-plus Boston Conservatory students, alumni, faculty, and staff received individual nominations for the 2020 Elliot Norton Awards, and 20-plus community members were involved in nominated productions across 24 categories.

Your Department

Our students' original devised work, "Displaced: A Response to Qurban," won three national awards from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival in 2018: the Kennedy Center Citizen Artist Award; the Outstanding Sound Design and Composition award; and the Distinguished Production of a Devised or Company Generated Work award.

Student Spotlight: Sharmarke Yusuf

Sharmarke Yusuf (B.F.A. '20, contemporary theater) has long had an interest in writing, and he began to take it seriously as an area of focus after taking a playwriting class at the Conservatory. He is currently pursuing a creative writing minor, which includes Berklee College of Music courses.
