Introduction to Creative Media Technology (C-PR 1001)

ABOUT THE COURSE

Introduction to Creative Media Technology teaches students how to leverage the capabilities of everyday technology to enhance their artistry and gain practical skills in creating high-quality audiovisual content. Throughout the course, students will learn basic audio and video production skills, from recording and editing techniques to understanding the necessity of developing a strong online presence and using AI in the context of artistic expression. Additionally, this course emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, providing students with the opportunity to work with peers from diverse disciplines, fostering creativity and innovation across different areas of study.

The class is offered in a blended modality format, with a mix of asynchronous online work and in-person meetings. It meets for the equivalent of one hour weekly and provides one credit. It is a required course for all first-year Conservatory students and can be taken in either the fall or spring semester.
