Damien Francoeur-Krzyzek joined the Conservatory in 2007 and is an assistant professor of music specializing in vocal coaching.

He earned a specialist degree in collaborative piano from the University of Michigan (2006), an M.M. in vocal performance from the University of Denver (2002), and a B.A. in French and Spanish from the University of Colorado (2000). Francoeur-Krzyzek was also an apprentice coach at San Francisco Opera’s Merola Young Artist Program in 2004. He studied collaborative piano with Martin Katz, piano with Carolyn and Bernard Shaak, and voice with Carmen Pelton, Sara Bardill, and Kenneth Cox.

Francoeur-Krzyzek has also served on the faculty of New England Conservatory since 2007, and he has served on the music staff of Opera Theatre of Saint Louis since 2008. Former principal coach of Boston Lyric Opera, he prepared 13 productions for that company between 2006 and 2010. An avid linguist, Francoeur-Krzyzek has studied and coached vocal repertoire in more than a dozen languages, including Czech, Russian, Catalan, and Dutch.
