John David Eldridge joined the Conservatory in 2023 and is an assistant professor of musical theater.

As a freelance pianist, conductor, and music director, Eldridge maintains a busy performance schedule. He also owns and operates Stage Sounds, a small business that provides keyboard programming for musical productions around the world.

Eldridge has extensive experience with school and youth theater programs, having taught courses and/or music directed shows at Reagle Music Theater, Wheelock Family Theater, Wellesley Theatre Project, Middlesex School Summer Arts, Concord Youth Theater, Alexander Children's Theater School, Watertown Children's Theater, Acton-Boxboro High School, the Brimmer and May School, the Fenn and Nashoba Brooks Schools, Concord-Carlisle High School, Concord Middle School, Gann Academy, and North Reading High School.

Since 2015, John has been the resident music director for Pentucket Players, one of the premier community theater groups in Massachusetts. In that time, he has conducted and/or music directed over 20 productions, including Hello, Dolly!, Jekyll & Hyde, Anything Goes, Jesus Christ Superstar, Sweeney Todd, The Music Man, Sunday in the Park with George, and many more. In 2022, John received two DASH nominations for his music direction of both Evita and A Little Night Music.

Other recent music directing credits include Seussical and Billy Elliot (Firehouse Center for the Arts); Company (Acting Out); Little Women (Wheelock Family Theater); Curious George, Madagascar, and Mamma Mia‬ (North Shore Music Theater). He also played the role of Oscar, the rehearsal pianist, in 42nd Street‬ (Reagle Music Theater). 

Eldridge has performed as a pianist, percussionist, and vocalist with orchestras, wind ensembles, jazz bands, and choruses across the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, and Japan. He lives in northeastern Massachusetts with his wife and family.
