Jeremy Ruth Howes joined Boston Conservatory at Berklee in 2021, and is an assistant professor of dance.

Howes is a noted choreographer, educator, dancer, and freelance photographer. She has danced with Virginia Ballet Theatre, Northern Ballet Theatre, and as a guest artist with Hartford Ballet. For the past 17 years she has been a dancer with Anna Myer and Dancers/beheard.world. Her diverse repertoire includes roles in neoclassical, contemporary, and classical ballets by George Balanchine, Martha Graham, Paul Taylor, Marius Petipa, Katie Stevinson-Nollet, Adam Miller, Alla Nikitina, Tim Melady, Thang Dao, Denise Cecere, and Peggy Lyman Hayes. 

Howes holds a Master of Fine Arts in interdisciplinary arts from Goddard College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance from the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Dance. She also trained at the Boston Ballet School and the Martha Graham School on scholarship.  

Howes's choreography has been performed internationally and featured at the American College Dance Festival. She has created 21 original ballets for Dean College’s dance company, where she is also on faculty, and her newest ballets, Dreaming Awake and C’est la Vie, premiered alongside works by Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Joseph Jefferies at Northeast School of Ballet’s fall series. She is on faculty at the Conservatory at Northeast School of Ballet, where she is also a resident choreographer and the company photographer. She is on faculty at Walker's Dance, where she is the artistic director and choreographer of their annual Nutcracker Suite. She recently joined the faculty at Franklin School for the Performing Arts. Her Howes’s greatest joy is instilling the love of ballet in her students and witnessing the transformative power of dance in action.
