Laura Grandi is a tango dancer, scholar, and educator originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has over 20 years of experience in Argentine tango and has trained extensively with renowned tango masters in Buenos Aires. Grandi has been invited multiple times to teach workshops at the Buenos Aires International Tango Festival and was selected to study at Espacio Nacional Tango Argentino (ENTA), a program run by the Ministry of Culture of Argentina. She holds a diploma in tango from the University of Buenos Aires and studied choreography composition and dance theater at the Instituto Universitario Nacional de Arte (IUNA).
Throughout her career, Grandi has performed, taught, and promoted Argentine tango and its cultural traditions in cities, universities, and festivals across Latin America, North America, and Europe. Her work bridges social dance practice, artistic research, and pedagogy, with a strong emphasis on improvisation and embodied communication.
Grandi has served as a lecturer in the dance department at Smith College and is currently a teacher at the Tango Society of Boston, where she works with dancers of diverse backgrounds, capacities, and experience levels.
