Planned Giving at the Conservatory
A planned gift offers a unique opportunity to make a difference now and in the future. Anyone can participate—there are options for all income levels, age brackets, and areas of interest. By doing so, you affirm the importance of creating an enduring legacy for future generations of students.
The Churchill Society
H. Wilfred Churchill '38, alumnus and devoted piano faculty member, was the first person to give a gift of his estate to the Conservatory. He directed his gift to be used for student scholarships. Since 1994, the Churchill Piano Prize has provided financial support for talented piano students.
Churchill Society members receive the following benefits, recognizing their incredible generosity and lasting legacy:
- Invitations to exclusive pre-show receptions and special events
- Complimentary tickets to Center Stage performances
- Special invitations to observe master classes and visiting artists
To join the Churchill Society or to learn more about the opportunities for creating your own legacy, contact Greg Gordon, interim lead for Boston Conservatory at Berklee Institutional Advancement, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 617-747-8393. All conversations are strictly confidential.
One of the most common planned-giving vehicles is a bequest intention planned through your will, or a codicil to your existing will, that directs a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the total value of the estate.
Your bequest can benefit the College and Conservatory in many ways, including general support, scholarships, or a naming opportunity in the future, while allowing you control of your assets now.
Some people also choose to designate Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee as a beneficiary of their life insurance policy or retirement account, such as a 401(k), 403(b), or IRA plan.

We recommend that you speak with your tax attorney or financial advisor to discuss the details of your planned gift.
Please note that our legal names are Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
The federal tax ID for both the College and Conservatory is 04-2300472.
Additional ways to make a legacy gift include a charitable gift annuity, deferred gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, and real estate.
