Kristen Katsimpas joined the Conservatory in 2014 and is an instructor of theater, specializing in musical theater jazzdance.
Prior to teaching at Boston Conservatory, Katsimpas taught dance classes to non-dance majors at the University of Massachusetts Amherst while earning her B.F.A. While attending the university, she served as stage manager for the school's largest dance performance of the year with University Dancers (University of Massachusetts Amherst, 2010). After graduating, she became a company member of Hyperbole Dance under the direction of Nikki Sell and a dance teacher at the Jeannette Neill Dance Studio. She has also performed with Jazz Inc., a Boston-based dance company under the direction of Stephanie Heroux, at the Massachusetts Dance Festival (2011).
Katsimpas was raised in Massachusetts and received her early training from Bill Fowler and later from Jeannette Neill’s teen program, Boston Youth Moves (BYM). While training at BYM, she was honored to work with master choreographers Hope Boykin, Kirven Boyd, Chet Walker, Richard Havey, and others. She went on to earn her B.F.A. in dance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she received the Chancellor's Talent Award (2010-2013). While attending the university, she performed works by Camille A. Brown, Adrienne Hawkins, and Billbob Brown at the Massachusetts Dance Festival and on tour with University Dancers.
She resides in Boston, Massachusetts, where she is a current company member of BoSoma Dance Company.
