Tommy Coye joined the Conservatory in 2009 and is an instructor of theater, specializing in jazz and musical theater dance for the musical theater program.

For more than 25 years, Coye has been a respected faculty member of Boston's renowned Jeannette Neill Dance Studio, teaching jazz, musical theater dance, and video dance classes. He has taught master classes and workshops throughout New England and has been on the dance faculty of Emerson College and on the staff of Sports Club/LA Boston. Additionally, he has taught and choreographed for the Boston Youth Moves preprofessional teen dance program, where he has served as board president and chair of fundraising/development. Coye was also associate director, lead dancer, and choreographer for ACE Entertainment, a Boston-based entertainment production company specializing in dancers and choreographers for corporate events, product presentation, film, and video. Additionally, he was associate director of the Boston Summer Dance Festival, which brought to Boston such dance luminaries as Donald McKayle, Matt Mattox, Chet Walker, Milton Myers, Donna McKechnie, Lynn Simonson, Eva von Gencsy, and Danny Buraczeski.

As a performer and choreographer, Coye's work has been seen nationally and internationally. He has toured with major recording stars; opened for entertainment headliners; performed on cruise ships and at regional theaters, supper clubs, casinos, and arenas; performed in and choreographed product presentations for major sportswear companies, commercials, and global corporate events; and choreographed major motion pictures, most notably The Heat with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy and Black Mass with Johnny Depp.

A native of Massachusetts, Coye began his dance training in Boston at the Jeannette Neill Dance Studio and Joy of Movement Center. He went on to study as a dance major at New York University and subsequently trained at many of New York City's major dance studios, including Steps, Broadway Dance Center, Theatre Dance Studio, David Howard's, Harkness House, and Dance Space Center.

Coye currently resides in Boston and is managing director of the Jeannette Neill Dance Studio.
