Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s fall Center Stage performance season will close with the Tony Award-winning musical City of Angels. Performances will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater on Wednesday, November 29 through Saturday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m., with an afternoon performance on Saturday,  December 2 at 2:00 p.m.

An homage to the era of film noir, City of Angels is a high-energy musical satire that examines the promise—and flaws—of Hollywood through the characters Stine, a successful writer adapting his novel for the screen, and Stone, his fictional detective hero. The musical won six Tony Awards in 1990, including Best Musical and Best Original Score. A West End revival of City of Angels in London was met with acclaim, receiving Best Musical Revival at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards. Featuring music by Cy Coleman, lyrics by David Zippel, and book by Larry Gelbart, the performance is directed and choreographed by Professor Daniel Pelzig, with music direction and conducting by Kevin Stites.

“It is an honor and a delight to bring City of Angels to the Boston Conservatory at Berklee stage,” said Pelzig. “Our students have brought their incredible talents to this wonderful show, from the extraordinary score to the smart and sophisticated book. City of Angels is going to be a special production, and I am thrilled to have it close out this year’s Center Stage season on a high note!”

City of Angels will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29 through Saturday, December 2, and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. Tickets for City of Angels are $25 to $30 for regular seating; $18.75 to $22.50 seniors, non-Berklee students, and WGBH members; and $12.50 to $15 for Conservatory alumni.
