Boston Conservatory at Berklee Presents the Tony–Nominated Musical Legally Blonde

The musical, based on the hit film, is part of the Conservatory’s fall Center Stage season.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s fall Center Stage season continues with a production of the hilarious and fabulous musical Legally Blonde at Boston Conservatory Theater. Evening performances will take place from Thursday, November 6 through Saturday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m.; matinees will take place on Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Legally Blonde, nominated for seven Tony Awards in 2007, is a fun and action-packed musical adaptation of the beloved 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon. Sorority president Elle Woods appears to have it all—beauty, popularity, and the perfect boyfriend. When the love of her life breaks up with her and takes off for Harvard Law School, she embarks on a madcap adventure, determined to get him back. Along the way, she confronts epic obstacles, crushes stereotypes, and learns the best lesson of all: that being true to yourself never goes out of style.

Adored by audiences on Broadway and around the world, Legally Blonde blends infectious pop songs, thrilling choreography, and a heartfelt message of empowerment and resilience. Featuring music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, and a book by Heather Hach (based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture), Boston Conservatory’s production is directed and choreographed by assistant professor Larry Sousa, with music direction by associate professor José Delgado.

“From the moment I started teaching here 15 years ago, my students have been pleading with us to produce Legally Blonde, and I’m thrilled the time has finally arrived. This show is a perfect fit for us, and I have no doubt our audiences will see why. Legally Blonde is a hilarious and heartwarming musical comedy that explodes with energy from start to finish,” said Sousa  “While the show is busy entertaining us with dazzling, elaborate production numbers, it also passionately digs into themes of resilience, empowerment, and challenging stereotypes. At its heart, this show fearlessly champions the message of believing in your authentic self, a theme which is literally the foundation of my mission as a performing arts teacher.  It has been a gift to work with our brilliant musical theater students as they take on this iconic show with such breathtaking talent, enthusiasm, and professionalism.”

Legally Blonde will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, November 6 through Saturday, November 8, and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, and Sunday, November 9. Tickets are $43.50 to $48.50 for regular seating; and $33.50 to $38.50 for seniors, non-Berklee students, and Conservatory alumni.
