American History Through Music Workshop Series: Session 3 of 3
Audience members are invited to participate in a musical voyage through American history when Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Music Education Department hosts a series of special, family-friendly musical/historical programs, presented by musicians and historians Jim Dalton and Maggi Smith-Dalton. Each session will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Studio 401 (Floor 4) at 31 Hemenway Street. Each of the three illustrated sessions will examine American history through its music.
The presenters will perform the music, talk about the lifestyles, examine the social issues, meet the people, and attempt to understand the wonderful and complicated past which gave us our present day culture. Handout materials and suggestions for future learning will be provided. Class participation in musical experiences will be provided at intervals.
