Describe your favorite Berklee experience so far.

My favorite Berklee experience was putting on my past two recitals. I got to play with my closest friends and bring my original music to life and play it for friends and family.

When you think about your favorite class so far, what is one example of why you enjoyed it?

My favorite class was an elective called Advanced Producer Songwriter with Rodney Alejandro. I enjoyed it because of its small class size and the individual attention we received from such a knowledgable faculty member. We were able to hone in on three skills all at once—songwriting, production, and engineering.

What is your favorite part about studying and living in Boston?

I love that Boston is diverse and open-minded, and that Berklee puts in an incredible amount of effort to make sure those values are upheld.

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone applying to Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee?

My advice...is to truly be yourself. Prepare an audition piece that is true to what you enjoy about music—don't bring in a piece that you think is just going to impress the judges; bring in a piece you genuinely enjoy performing. Additionally, consider what your passions are within music, what your five-to-10 year plans are post Berklee, and how you plan to use your education to get there.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

The 160 and 150 [Massachusetts Avenue] studios! I've spent a majority of my time at Berklee there recording such talented musicians, and everyone should definitely check out the incredible studio facilities Berklee has created for us while you visit campus.

Why did you choose Berklee?

I chose Berklee because I knew that Berklee believed in me and my potential. I knew that I could inch closer to my career goals post graduation with the education I've received here.

What are your plans for after graduation?

My two career goals post graduation are to be a professional songwriter with a copublishing deal and to be an audio engineer in many different settings—live sound, post-production, tracking, etc.

What have you enjoyed most about the live shows you’ve been involved in at Berklee?

I've enjoyed being both a performer and working behind the scenes in live shows through stage crew. Getting to sing my own tunes in my own recitals was such a huge learning experience for me—it taught me leadership and responsibility. I also loved working with the stage crew to help set up the show so that the best possible performance can occur. Being on both sides has taught me how important both roles are, and that they truly need to work together for the best results.

Where do you hope to perform this coming year?

Hopefully at commencement, because I'm finally graduating.
