Assistant Professor of Theater

Contemporary Theater and Musical Theater

As a teacher, I strive to marry intellectual rigor with artistic and creative practice.

Paul Masters joined the Conservatory in 2017, and is an assistant professor of theater. Specializing in immersive and participatory theater and media, Masters teaches courses such as Theater History, Dramatic Text and Theory, and Immersive and Experiential Theater. He also teaches graduate courses and has been an advisor for M.F.A. performance projects.

Since receiving his Ph.D. and an M.A. in theater from Tufts University in 2016, Masters has continued to pursue research into site-specific, immersive, and environmental theatrical production, with a special interest in the use of immersive aesthetics to advance social justice and equity.
