The kickoff concert of the 2019–2020 Boston Conservatory Orchestra season features works by the first noted African American woman composer, Florence Price, as well as one of today’s most popular young composers, Mason Bates, who will join the orchestra live in performance. The concert will conclude with a 20th-century masterwork, Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5.
