In 1963, following a concert with the New York Philharmonic in response to the assassination of John F. Kennedy, Leonard Bernstein was famously quoted as stating, “This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before.” Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble presents a program of works created in response to darkness, with each piece bringing light and hope for the future and all who stop to listen.
