Adria Stolk joined the Conservatory in 2016, and is an assistant professor of core studies, teaching music theory and ear training.
Prior to joining the Conservatory, Stolk taught ear training courses in the College of Fine Arts at Boston University. She is passionate about working with undergraduates and loves learning about her students' musical goals and ambitions. Stolk encourages students to set personal goals for each course and to actively explore the connections between their coursework and their endeavors as instrumentalists, composers, and performers. She considers it a privilege and joy to be working with student musicians every day.
Stolk is a composer of instrumental and vocal music. She studied with Andy Vores, Ketty Nez, Marti Epstein, and Yakov Gubanov. Stolk's recent compositions have been performed by Arlington-Belmont Chamber Chorus, Boston Percussion Group, Genesis Chamber Singers, Joint Venture Percussion Duo, the JACK Quartet, and Arizona Pro Arte Ensemble.
Stolk holds degrees in composition from Boston University (D.M.A.), Boston Conservatory (M.M.), and Berklee College of Music (B.M.).
