Boston Conservatory at Berklee Presents From the Ground Up

The annual event, a Center Stage selection, will feature seven world premieres from acclaimed guest artists and Boston Conservatory dance faculty members.

Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s fall Center Stage performance season will continue with an annual tradition highlighting sophomore, junior, and senior dance majors. Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater from Thursday, October 12 through Sunday, October 15. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on October 12 through 14, and 2:00 p.m. on October 14 and 15.

From the Ground Up will showcase an original program of seven stylistically diverse world premieres created by guest artists and Boston Conservatory at Berklee dance faculty members. Featured guest artists include choreographer, dancer, and teacher Jarek Cemerek; choreographer, educator, and coach Thang Dao (B.F.A. '01), recipient of the 2022 #launchPAD residency at the Guggenheim; and founder and artistic director of Arch Dance Company and program director of ArchCore40 Dance Intensives Jennifer Archibald. Archibald has worked with Conservatory dance students for performances at KCON Los Angeles, which received high praise from audiences over the past two years. Conservatory dance faculty members Anthony BurrellAlissa CardoneJun Kuribayashi, and Ruka Hatua-Saar White also will premiere new works at the concert.

“From the Ground Up is one of our most exciting dance traditions, featuring all of our sophomore, junior, and senior contemporary and commercial dance majors performing the works of acclaimed guest artists and faculty,” said Tommy Neblett, dean of dance for Boston Conservatory at Berklee and artistic director of From the Ground Up. “We are thrilled to be presenting seven world premieres at this year’s concert, which will be an incredible showcase of dance performance and creative talent.” 

Fall Dance Concert: From the Ground Up will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts, at 7:30 p.m. from Thursday, October 12 through Saturday, October 14, and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14 and Sunday, October 15. Tickets for From the Ground Up are $25 to $30 for regular seating; $18.75 to $22.50 for seniors, non-Berklee students, and WGBH members; and $12.50 to $15 for Conservatory alumni. View additional events in Boston Conservatory’s fall Center Stage season.
