Liz Roncka joined the Conservatory in 2024 and is an associate professor of contemporary and commercial dance. She teaches the courses Vertical Barre and Conditioning for Dancers.

Most recently, Roncka’s performance work has focused on pole art and dance. She has presented work at the Regent Theater in Arlington, Massachusetts (2024) and in New York City (2023), and won a gold medal in the Pole Sport Organization Northeast Competition (2022). She has presented original contemporary dance works throughout the US and Europe at notable venues such as Dance Theater Workshop, Center for Performance Research, and Judson Church in New York City; Canaldanse and Galerie G in Paris, France; the Ludwig Museum and MU Szinhaz in Budapest, Hungary; and locally at the ICA, Boston University, the Boston Center for the Arts, the French Cultural Center, and New England Conservatory. Roncka has been a guest teacher at the American College Dance Festival, Boston College, Bridgewater State College, and Wood’s Hole Oceanographic Institute/MIT.  

Prior to shifting her focus to dance, Roncka spent over a decade as a physical therapist working in a variety of settings, from the intensive care units of Boston Medical Center to a private clinic specializing in the treatment of musicians and dancers. She has over 20 years of experience teaching Pilates in a wide range of settings, from private studios to physical therapy clinics to universities—as well as running her own studio in Brookline, Massachusetts.

Roncka holds a Bachelor of Science in health sciences and a Master of Science in physical therapy from Boston University. She is a Stott Pilates certified instructor and holds multiple certifications in pole dance and flexibility training from elevatED Education and Xpert Fitness. 

Roncka resides in Cambridge, Massachusetts where she also teaches dance improvisation, pole dance circuit, and Pilates apparatus at Boston University, and offers private training in both Pilates and pole dance.
