Anaís Azul
Anaís Azul was born in Peru and raised in California. She is a composer, educator, and creative collaborator. Azul has been commissioned by The Chamber Orchestra of Boston, Berkeley High School Band and Orchestra, Oakland Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Awesome Orchestra, and Serenbe Playhouse. She is the recipient of the Boston University departmental award in composition, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival award for Outstanding Composition and Sound Design for Displaced: A Response to Qurban (Boston Conservatory at Berklee), and Arts Lab Fellowship (Boston Medical Center). Recently, Azul collaborated with hip-hop artist Billy Dean Thomas by creating string arrangements for American Gothic, which premiered at OBERON. anaisazul.com
