Community Programs
Movement Matters (Dance)
Introduced in 2014, Movement Matters is a dance program for low-mobility senior citizens aimed at helping to incorporate physical movement into their daily routines. The program pairs Boston Conservatory dance and theater students with professionally trained faculty members to present hour-long classes to senior citizens that teach gentle but challenging movement through a variety of dance styles: ballet, modern, jazz, and tap.
Music Workshops (Music)
Conservatory Connections encourages students from the Conservatory's music education program to take part in monthly outreach activities that take place at community centers and after-school programs. Students interact with local children through activities that teach them about music, rhythm, a variety of instruments, and movement.
