About the Artists

Lila Brown, viola, is a former member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Academica Salzburg (under Sandor Végh), and Ensemble Modern. She has served on the faculties of the Hochschule in Vienna, Austria and the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany. She has been a professor at Boston Conservatory since 2009 and is the founder and director of Music from Salem.

Judith Gordon, piano, explores diverse repertoire in collaboration with a wide range of soloists and ensembles. She has been a soloist in works from Bach and Ravel to Cage and Boulez, with groups including the Boston Pops, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, and Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Now based in New Mexico, Gordon plays regularly with the musicians of ChatterABQ.

Sharan Leventhal, violin, has toured four continents as a soloist, chamber musician, and teacher. She has received numerous grants and premiered over 150 works. A founding member of Marimolin, Kepler Quartet, and Gramercy Trio, she can be heard on the New World, Northeastern, Newport Classic, Naxos, Parma, Navona, GM, and Catalyst labels. She teaches at Boston Conservatory at Berklee, as well as Berklee College of Music.

Rhonda Rider, cello, was a member of the Naumburg Award-winning Lydian Quartet and Triple Helix Piano Trio for over two decades. She has adjudicated at Fischoff, Stulberg, and Concert Artist Guild Competitions, and teaches the most creative and inventive students imaginable at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
