Boston Conservatory at Berklee presents its sixth annual Dance on Film Festival, showcasing student films created throughout the academic year. Telling stories on film through the art of dance, the collection of short, student-created works presented this year represent the students’ continued exploration of how dance translates to film. Joining our student lineup will be alumni films by Holly Wilder (Wilder Project, with Luis Gamara) and Jesse Lee Thorne. We are inspired and enlivened by these creative voices as expressed through the eye of the camera.

Welcome Note
Welcome to the 2026 annual Dance on Film Festival!
Boston Conservatory at Berklee presents its sixth annual Dance on Film Festival, showcasing student and alumni films. The Dance on Film Festival began in 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Boston Conservatory’s dance classes transitioned from in person to online. During this time, WinterWorks, our annual concert of student choreography and first-year students’ performance debut, went online as a dance film festival. The response of the dance world during lockdown—to continue moving and creating through a virtual medium—was invigorating and inspirational. Dance on camera festivals and dance film programs had a platform in which the sharing of stories and movement through video became more accessible, compelling, and visionary. As a result, we realized that there was a strong interest, instinct, and talent among the student population to express their unique creativity through film and video. Through directed curriculum, we continue to work on film literacy and an increased understanding of the process. The collection of short, student-created works presented this year represent their continued exploration of how dance translates to film. In addition, we are including award-winning films by alumni Holly Wilder (Wilder Project with music by Luis Gamara) and Jessie Lee Thorne to the festival lineup. We are inspired by the creative voices expressed through the eye of the camera, which enlighten and expand our point of view.
Enjoy!
