Director's Note
It would be impossible for me to try to create a piece of theater that adequately represents my last four years here. Much of my time was spent clouded by the pandemic. That said, I have had my highs and lows throughout my time at Boston Conservatory—laughs, heartbreaks, accomplishments, and challenges. When writing my capstone, I wanted to encompass some of these pivotal moments documented in my personal journal entries paired with scenes and monologues that are meaningful to me. Much of my artistic life has been spent trying to separate my home/work life. But that was essentially an impossible task when it came to telling my story. The truth is they are so intertwined and at times even mirror each other. The world around me has influenced so much of who I am and my art. This piece is just like my life—it is merely a moment in time. The work I do is not permanent, it is a constant evolution, and most importantly, it is a process. I hope that is what my capstone shows—the process. Nothing can remain or stay the same. Who I was before and who I am now are merely moments in time.
