First performed in 1979, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine is a musical comedy composed of two one-act plays. The first, A Day in Hollywood, takes place in Grauman’s Chinese Theatre where a chorus of ushers celebrate the golden age of Hollywood through song and dance. The second, A Night in the Ukraine, reimagines Anton Chekhov's The Bear as a Marx Brothers film set in the stately mansion of a wealthy Ukrainian widow.
